“We just moved to Colorado with our black lab and became a member of a household with 2 more adults, 2 kids and 3 Frenchies instead of just being two old “farts” and a spoiled dog. Being a “pack member” in our new home presents some interesting challenges to an “only dog” that has been spoiled! I knew something had to change… as he was alienating everyone except the puppy!

I drove by Front Range K9 Academy daily and wondered if they might hold the answer for our unruly pup. They were so nice on the phone, supportive and reassuring that he really was trainable and never pointed an accusing finger toward the real problem…a pushover owner!

And, YES! He would be able to walk on a leash and not run like a gazelle after anything cute! furry and fast!

My dog pulled me into the first one on one class setting and we got to work. The trainer took time to explain what and how to do the steps and what to practice at home for success. She was wonderful and very positive with my success too! His original obedience training was reawakened and I was beginning to be in charge again! I was even feeling like I might be able to walk him in our well populated with furry animals neighborhood!

The trainer was very complementary on the work we practiced each week and assured me he was ready for group classes. The first night my heart was pounding. Shadow pulled on the leash but never jerked the leash out of my hand! Success! Well, a really good start! For some of the things learned in the group setting he was even the star! Again, the credit goes to the wonderful teaching skills of the instructors and the their knowledge of the dogs needs.

They took time to answer questions and to personalize training even in the group setting. The best take away for someone struggling with the decision of “does my dog really need this?” Is YES they probably do. The change in our multigenerational setting is amazing.
