Cancellation Policy
We understand that 'life happens' sometimes, and can interfere with dog training appointments. However, as a small business, our trainers are paid by the sessions they teach, and when a session gets cancelled, they lose income.
While it may not seem like a big deal if you have to cancel or reschedule a session or two for yourself, when multiple clients cancel, it adds up very quickly - in fact, in 2023, our trainers lost over $11,000 in income due to cancellations!
We offer one ‘free’ reschedule for any private session. Additional rescheduled sessions will require a prepaid, non-refundable rescheduling fee of $30 for each rescheduled session.
"But I rescheduled! Why are you requesting a fee?"
Think of it like this:
When you book a session, you've committed to come train with us, and we've committed a trainer and our training facility space & time
to meet with you. That slot in the schedule can't be given away to anyone else - sort of like booking a wedding venue, etc.
If you have to cancel - especially on short notice - we now have no one to fill that slot in the schedule; plus, we have to use up a NEW slot
in our facility, and trainers' schedule for your new session.
Additionally, your new session may not be with the trainer your original session was scheduled with - effectively taking money out of the
first trainer's income.
So, even if you've purchased a prepaid package, we request a nominal fee of $30 (less than 1/3 of our basic private fee) to book an
additional hour of our time & facility space.
"But what about group sessions? Why is there a makeup fee?"
If you bought tickets to a concert, and then had to miss the event, would you expect the band to then give you a private concert for free,
later?
Just like buying tickets to any group event (like a concert, perhaps?), when you purchase group sessions, you're agreeing to show up at
the same date & time each week with your classmates and your trainer.
So, if you do need a makeup session for a group session, we have a small makeup fee ($30), to cover the time booked at our facility
and the trainer's time to offer that private session to keep you on track with training.
We really do value your business and dedication to your dogs; and we also value our trainers and their incredible
dedication to our clients.
In a perfect world, there would never be a need for cancellations or rescheduling fees, but for now, we need to protect our valuable trainers’ time and income.
